Sonu Ratra is the Founder and President of Akraya, Inc., an American multinational IT staffing and managed services firm headquartered in Santa Clara. Akraya is a certified woman- and minority-owned and Bay Area Green Business. The company has won many national and local awards in recent years including being named to San Francisco Business Times’ Best Places to Work 2014 by the San Francisco Business Times, 2013’s #1 Best Staffing Firm to Work For and #2 Best Staffing Firm to Temp For by Staffing Industry Analysts. Akraya was also named to Achievers’ 50 Most Engaged Workplaces and Great Place to Work 2012 by the Great Place to Work Institute.

In the staffing industry, Ms. Ratra is recognized as a highly motivated and focused thought leader. After more than a decade of Staffing Management experience, Ms. Ratra co-founded Akraya, Inc in 2001 with a vision to empower clients to deliver revolutionary products by providing innovative talent solutions. Akraya has grown in a mere 14 years into a preferred staffing company to several Fortune 500 enterprises. Today, Akraya provides services in seven countries and fosters a nationwide staff with a very unique and award-winning culture.

Besides leading and accelerating Akraya’s aggressive growth plans, Ms. Ratra spearheads Akraya’s Diversity Strategy and social responsibility efforts such as Race for Literacy, advocating for women empowerment, girls in technology and STEAM Programs. She is also responsible for the founding of Women Back to Work – an Akraya Initiative designed to aid women re-entering the workforce.

Ms. Ratra is proud to serve on the National Board of Directors at the Institute of Economic Empowerment of Women and participates in their Peace through Business Program. Ms. Ratra also represents Akraya on the Northern California Women’s Business Enterprise Astra leadership group.

Ms. Ratra is a past winner of the Enterprising Woman of the Year Award, the Woman of Influence Award, the Stevie Awards, the Soroptimist Ruby Award and Northwood University’s Outstanding Business Leader Award.

Ms. Ratra holds a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences and is an Alumni of the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She lives in Los Altos with her husband, her daughter and her Labrador, Bvlgari.
